Lincolnton, N.C, June 29, 2012 - Interlogix’ Lincolnton facility recently received the distinguished Carolina Star award, designed to recognize and promote effective safety and health management systems. Out of 250,000 employers in North Carolina, only 125 sites have achieved the “Star” status. The Lincolnton facility manufactures security surveillance and access control products for commercial, industrial, and institutional segments. Administered by North Carolina Department of Labor, the “Star Award” recognizes worksites as self-sufficient in their ability to control hazards and provide a safe and healthy workplace. The Lincolnton facility has achieved the Carolina Star requirement of Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and Days Away Restrict/Transferred rate (DART) 50 percent lower than industry average of two and .80 respectively, as published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). To celebrate this accomplishment, North Carolina Commissioner of Labor Cherie Berry, toured the facility and hoisted the Carolina star flag at the Lincolnton campus.
