November 10, 2010 – In the large and rapidly growing fire safety and electronic security industry in the Middle East, UTC Fire & Security has broadened its offering to customers through joint ventures, partnerships and an expanded presence in the region. UTC Fire & Security is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
A joint venture with Zener Group in Dubai, which has a strong foothold in the power generation and petrochemical, oil and gas segment, and the creation of Kidde Kuwait to provide fire products, service and installation, support the company’s growth plan and will help serve customers better. A partnership with Tamkeen in Bahrain will offer training in business management and fire and security technical jobs, including fire detection, access control, video surveillance and integrated security systems.
A Product Technology Demo Center is planned, and will serve as a UTC Fire & Security center of excellence for fire products. Expected to open in the fall of 2011, the facility will have indoor and outdoor training and demonstration capabilities where customers and partners can experience the full technical capabilities of UTC Fire & Security’s products.
