Lenel ILS™ is the industry’s first intelligent locking system that offers decision making at the lock point, providing network connectivity for locations within a facility that were once cost prohibitive or difficult to address. Lenel ILS offline and wireless locks were also designed to integrate with OnGuard® Access, an entry control and alarm monitoring system. Together, OnGuard and ILS bring advanced online access control functionality to electromechanical locks.
To obtain full protection along with future expansion capabilities, ILS provides the option of selecting wireless communications when purchasing locks or when the need arises. Simply pull the old reader, insert the new and the lock has been upgraded. Adding wireless connectivity is just as easy. Simply pull the protective cover and add a wireless antenna. Additional options enable multiple lock designs, including reader type (magnetic stripe, proximity and smart card), multiple handles, finishes, and chassis types to meet any user requirement.
As an extension of the OnGuard system, Lenel ILS allows users to configure doors, assign access levels, monitor events, audit, and maintain the system all from a single platform. With Lenel ILS more doors can be secured at a fraction of the cost of an online door.
To initially configure and manage Lenel ILS locks, users employ the Lenel ILS Mobile Configurator (MC). Required for both offline and wireless locks, the MC allows users to initialize, download card holders, download and upload audit information, download lock scheduling information, download firmware updates, and run lock diagnostics. The MC can also be used to unlock the Lenel ILS lock and change reader modes as needed. The MC power adaptor cable can be used to provide auxiliary power to the Lenel ILS locks in case of a low battery or battery dead condition. The Lenel ILS Mobile Configurator uses an intuitive touch screen interface allowing for true ease of use. The MC is capable of managing an unlimited number of Lenel ILS locks.
To integrate into the OnGuard system and obtain the best secure wireless connection for the system, ILS utilizes the Lenel Wireless Gateway, which enlists frequency agility. Frequency agility allows ILS to adjust the wireless frequency on the 900 Mhz wireless spectrum, ensuring that the connection between the Lenel ILS lock and the OnGuard system is always connected. With this wireless communication, OnGuard users have the ability to make updates to the Lenel ILS locks without having to visit the door and to capture events in real time.
Lenel ILS employs stand-alone power and an intelligent on-board internal database, which allows facilities to continue operation and secure rooms even in emergencies.
