Chinese Certified Fire Safety Solutions

BEIJING, China, Oct. 26, 2006 – Detector Electronics will display its Eagle Quantum Premier® (EQP) System, which has received Chinese government  certification, at its booth (#301-310, section B) at the China Fire show this week.  EQP is an addressable fire and gas detection, releasing/deluge system that is integrated onto a fault-tolerant digital communication network.  Detector Electronics, a manufacturer of flame and gas detectors and systems, is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Issued by the Chinese government though its China Certification Center for Fire Products, the CCCF’s certification signifies compliance to stringent flame and gas performance requirements. 

“While obtaining certifications for our products is a costly and challenging process, meeting the high standards required for Chinese certification ensures that our customers receive the most superior, highest quality life safety product,” said Jon Miller, Manager of Quality and Approvals at Detector Electronics.

“The EQP is one of the only systems that has gone through both flame and gas certifications. Not only is there a cost benefit in purchasing a single system to accommodate plant wide life safety needs, but the customer is also getting worldwide recognized flame and gas detection equipment as part of their system solution.”

The EQP System is suited for harsh industrial applications requiring hazardous location ratings and has the ability to be configured with two EQP controllers as a redundant pair, one controller acting as an active standby for the other, which provides increased system availability. The EQP is certified for flame and gas performance for the individual safety detection components as well as for the system. Det Tronics® detectors that are CCCF certified include the X3301 Protect IR® Multispectrum Infrared Flame Detector, X9800 IR Flame Detector, and the X5200 UVIR Flame Detector. The Pointwatch Eclipse® PIRECL and Open Path Eclipse Infrared Gas Detectors are also CCCF certified.
