Fireye to Display State-of-the-Art Product Offerings

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 28, 2006 — Fireye’s latest flame analyzer product, the Paragon Flame Scanner, is on display at the Power-Gen show (Booth 1666) this week at the Orange County Convention Center.  The new Paragon scanner combines flame safety and analytics into one compact, integrated package and will be available for retail in January 2007.  Fireye, a leading manufacturer of burner safety control systems and combustion hardware, is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

“The Paragon’s safety functionality allows it to precisely discriminate the presence or absence of target flames in multiple burner/boiler applications. It also provides unique algorithms able to measure the stability, intensity, and temperature of a flame and feeds those inputs into a customer’s existing software or a dedicated software package,” said John Devine, vice president of sales and marketing at Fireye.

“Fireye developed the Paragon in response to customer requirements, and incorporated their feedback right into the design.  There is a huge need for this type of technology in the market right now, particularly as customers demand access to even more analytical information.”

Fireye is also featuring some of its other market leading products at Power-Gen including the Insight flame scanner, sold worldwide for power, refinery and paper industry applications, and the Phoenix scanner for industrial, duct burner and fired heater applications.  Both are fully integrated products that combine sensing, amplification and user interface into a true “one piece” system that eliminates expensive field wiring and control cabinets, and significantly reduces installation time and cost.

Fireye continues to drive flame scanner innovation.  From its first application of infrared scanners for boiler safety, to the very latest in high technology integrated scanners, Fireye offers unique solutions tailored to meet modern application needs. With 70 years of experience in the design and manufacture of controls for the commercial and industrial burner/boiler market, Fireye remains commited to customer service, quality engineering, reliable products and manufacturing excellence.

Fireye is part of UTC Fire & Security, which provides fire safety and security solutions to more than one million customers around the world.  Headquartered in Farmington, Conn., UTC Fire and Security is a business unit of United Technologies Corp., which provides high technology products and services to the building and aerospace industries worldwide.  More information can be found at www.utcfireandsecurity.com.
