SIDES Wins First Order in Russia PARIS, France, February 5, 2007 – SIDES, a subsidiary of UTC Fire & Security, announced today its selection by Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport to provide four specialist rapid intervention firefighting trucks. The vehicles (ARFF type VMA112M) will provide runway protection, aircraft firefighting capability, and foam laying capacity for emergency crash landing response.  UTC Fire & Security is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company. As one of Russia’s main airports, Domodedovo transported more than 15 million passengers in 2006. The contract is valued in excess of U.S. $2 million and is SIDES’ first order in Russia.  “The Russian market is challenging because it has a complex set of fire safety and aviation security regulations with which foreign companies must comply.  This is definitely a breakthrough contract for both SIDES and UTC Fire & Security in Russia, particularly given the size and growth potential of this market,” said Rafi Krikorian, Director of Sales at SIDES. The new foam trucks will have a 10,000 liter water tank and capacity for 1,500 liters of foam. They will feature a SIDES’ water pump driven by the vehicle’s engine capable of discharging 6,000 liters of water per minute.  The trucks also will be equipped with a fully automatic foam proportioning system and power-assisted monitor to spread foam over a fire efficiently.  SIDES is a global leader in the manufacture and design of airport rescue and firefighting vehicles.
