UTC Fire & Security to Offer
Multiple Fire Safety Solutions at NFPA

FARMINGTON, Conn., June 4, 2006 ­ UTC Fire & Security and its related companies will showcase a broad range of innovative fire safety solutions at the National Fire Protection Association World Safety Conference & Exposition this week in Orlando, Fla.  Exhibiting companies include Badger Fire Protection, Chemetron Fire Systems, Det-Tronics, Fenwal Fire Protection, Kidde Fire Systems and Kidde Residential.  UTC Fire & Security is a business unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

 “Our deep understanding of fire behavior is reflected in the full line of fire detection, suppression and fire fighting products and services we offer our customers.  By leveraging the complete product offerings of each of the UTC Fire & Security companies we are able to deliver increased safety and peace of mind to individuals and businesses throughout the world,” said Bill Brown, president of UTC Fire & Security.

This show will mark the first time that the UTC Fire & Security fire safety companies are exhibiting together under a unified corporate presence.  UTC Fire & Security entered the fire safety market in July 2003 with the acquisition of Chubb Plc. In April 2005, UTC acquired Kidde Plc. and merged it with Chubb to form UTC Fire & Security.  In May 2005 Lenel Systems International was added to the new grouping.

“Each of our companies has a strong heritage in its respective area of expertise.  We intend to continue to emphasize and to go to market under our well-known and respected brands.  However, we are also proud to showcase the quality and breadth of our combined product and system offerings under the unified UTC Fire & Security banner,” Brown said.
