Hong Kong, China, Jan. 9, 2009 – Major event organizers in Hong Kong are turning to Guardforce and Chubb Security for comprehensive security coverage. Guardforce and Chubb are part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Guardforce provided security for the JB Group Classic, a world-class tennis tournament, and Chubb joined with Guardforce to safeguard the 43rd annual Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo, one of the most renowned events of its kind in Hong Kong.

At the recent tennis tournament, which attracted such stars as No. 1-ranked Jelena Jankovic and Wimbledon champion Venus Williams, Guardforce escorted players and provided emergency response, crowd control, and access control. “This demonstrated our professional capability in securing large-scale sporting stadium events and safely handling large crowds of spectators,” said Douglas Renwick, general manager of Guardforce Security Personnel.

Guardforce has more than 1,200 security people who are assigned to protect prestigious establishments and such events as the UBS Hong Kong Golf Open, the Hong Kong Rugby Tens, and the Olympic equestrian event.

Chubb teamed with Guardforce to provide blanket security for the Brands and Products Expo. The event, which marked its 70th anniversary last month, attracted 2.2 million people who visited more than 750 booths at the Victoria Park in Hong Kong. It marked the fifth year that the Expo chose Guardforce to provide security guards and transportation security.
